*Encaustic is a centuries-old painting process that uses melted beeswax, tree sap (damar resin), and oil paint. Beeswax is a natural surface and medium that may include tiny fibers or textures caught in the wax. This is a natural part of the process. The medium/surface takes two months to fully cure so treat it gently until then. Once fully cured, an encaustic painting can hang over a fireplace without melting. Even after curing, it is never recommended to hang encaustic art in direct light, close to a window, as the passive solar can cause melting or sweating.

Note: Encaustic is a natural medium and may naturally contain inclusions like air bubbles or particles on the wax surface.
